ANIMA 2011

The Anima are carvings from bark collected along the Hudson River.

They began as an accident.

I had gone hunting for driftwood

and could not find exactly what I wanted and somehow recognized

the many pieces of bark, hiding right there in plain sight. That was in 2004. Now, still, in 2011, they are as interesting and compelling to me as they were seven years ago.   I've just had a newer batch photographed by Diane Pell.
